Spring/Summer 2013 - Hair Color Trends

When the warm weather hits that's when we start thinking of updating our wardrobes and lightening our locks. When your deciding which hue to go for this season there are many things you should factor in before you go through with it.

Are you warm or cool? And no I am not talking about your personality... If you are warm you most likely have a golden, olive, or dark complexion and the veins in your inner wrist appear green. You will want  to avoid any ash based hair colours. Golden shades such as, caramel and bronze will compliment your complexion and give your skin a healthy glow. From personal experience I wouldn't recommend going more than three shades lighter than your original hair colour. Not only will your hair thank you but it is low maintenance and easy on the pockets. If you do decide to go blonde - do yourself a favour - go to a colour specialist.

If you are cool you most likely are fair to light in complexion and the vein in your inner wrist will appear blue. I encourage you to avoid golden, auburn and copper colours that will wash out your face  - you want to enhance your beauty not distract it. Your best bet is to gravitate towards colours like ash blonde and cool browns.

Well now that you have an idea of what category you fall under, we can begin to explore the hottest hair colour trends for Spring/Summer 2013.

Light it up - Ombré

This was big for fall and winter and has made its way to spring/summer - dark at the root and gradually lightning towards the ends. Low maintenance and cost effective.

Blonde

Blonde never goes out of style.

Ginger Hue

Just about anyone can go red, they just have to find the right shade that suites their complexion. In my opinion, its red heads that have all the fun. So be different this season and turn heads.
