The Bright, Bold, and Beautiful

Ladies it's time to break out of your shell and turn heads.  Spring/Summer 2013 is all about lashes, loud lips, bold brows, eyeliner, and barely there makeup.

Retro in 2013

Without a doubt, designer's this season are inspired by 60's style icons like Eddie Sedgwick and Twiggy. From Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton we are seeing bold brows, Pale lips, and lots of eyeliner on the runway this season. This trend will also follow us into autumn/winter 2014, so be sure to invest in nude glosses and Eyeliner - you'll need it. Don't be afraid to experiment with aqua blue and emerald green eyeliner.

It's official, no longer are false lashes considered tacky! From the runways to red carpets luscious lashes are an essential element to your overall look. For natural-looking lashes make sure you trim the falsies to fit the shape of your eyes. You will want to bend the band in the middle, for a more flexible fuss-free application. Before applying the false lashes you will want to apply mascara to your lashes which will help them blend in and give you a more natural look. The secret to making the lashes stick is to wait for the glue to turn from white to translucent.

Duo's Eyelash Adhesive (can be purchased at MAC) is my choice when using false lashes, it's strong, stays on long, and is easy to remove. For the sake of your eyelashes and the health of your face, please ladies - remove your make up before you go to bed. Using an oil-based makeup remover will prevent you from losing your lashes. Maybelline Expert Eyes for water proof makeup is what I use and it is under $10.

Loud Lips

This is a big impact, low effort look which can be achieved by using minimal eye makeup and focusing mainly on your lips. For more on how to achieve this look, please refer to my previous post: 50 Shades of Red Lipstick

It's time to embrace our natural beauty and accentuate our best features for an effortless lighter look.  You will need BB Cream, Concealer, blush, bronzer, mascara, and brow shadow; focus on contouring. I will be posting a tutorial on how to achieve this look by the end of the week :)
